The Temple Beth Shalom Kosher Dinner is returning for its 74th year of food and fun for the whole family! If you enjoy meeting new people, participating in fun activities, and eating delicious food, the Annual Kosher Dinner is the place to be this Sunday, March 8th, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
This year’s menu features the usual beef brisket, as well as spiced apples, apricot kuchen, potato knishes, and carrot tzimmes. Tables will be set with relish trays featuring pickles, chick peas, and horse radish. Pickled herring and challah bread will also be available.
The festivities will begin with live music and skits, before everyone moves to the social hall for dinner. Many guests purchase take-out meals for friends and family, or to eat the next day. During the meal, the Rabbi will welcome the guests and explain the significance of items in the hall, such as the Torah scrolls and Tree of Life.
Cookies are consumed in 95.2% of United States households, whether as a snack or a dessert, and the volunteers of the Temple Beth Shalom Kosher Dinner make no exceptions. Jewish baked goods and treats will be available for purchase at the dinner, including cookies, breads and cakes. These will be located in the foyer with a gift shop.
While fundraising is a positive side effect of the dinner, the main purpose is community outreach.
Temple Beth Shalom is located at 1322 East 30th Avenue, Spokane, WA 99203. Advance tickets cost $14 for adults and $7 for children. At the door, adult tickets will be $16 and children’s will be $9.
